Bruce excited by Newcastle's forward line ahead of Arsenal opener

Newcastle United have a tough start to the Premier League season as they take on Arsenal - who have made several signings in the summer - at St. James' Park.

Arsenal had a successful transfer window as they brought in six new players namely; Gabriel Martinelli, Dani Ceballos, William Saliba, Nicolas Pepe, Kieran Tierney and David Luiz.

Arsenal saw two previous bids for the Scotland global rejected, however they finally got their man ahead of Thursday's 1700 BST (2 AM AEST) deadline for Premier League clubs.

The former Basel man made just eight Premier League appearances with the Gunners under Unai Emery.

"Celtic Football Club today confirmed that Kieran Tierney has signed for Arsenal FC, after completing a medical earlier in London".

However, in a late twist, it looks like there will be a big money departure from Arsenal as BBC journalist David Ornstein claims Everton have agreed to sign Alex Iwobi for a fee in the region of £35m-£40m.

Family members of the victims gathered at funerals on either side of the border Friday to remember their loved ones. The gunman confessed to officers while he was surrendering and later explained that he had been targeting Mexicans.

While the 30-year-old at times tends to frustrate with his overall contribution to the game, there is absolutely no questioning the fact that Aubameyang is simply a world-class goalscorer. On another day he is an absolutely ridiculous defender.

Arsenal were far from their best on Tyneside, but the quality they possess in the final third was enough to get them through. He'll need to have a similar season to propel Arsenal into the top four.

And the Gabonese hitman went on to do exactly what he has done for the last 18 months, since first pulling on an Arsenal jersey.

"It's been an awkward situation for young Tierney, but in saying that I think the time is right to move on".

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce was disappointed that the lapse resulted proved decisive in his first competitive match in charge of his boyhood club. But the Gunners leaned on their young players and some key reserves, as well as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's knack to find the back of the net, to ease out the victory.

Arsenal haven't won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when Arsene Wenger led the north London side to their famous Invincibles season.
