Danilo joins Juventus as Manchester City complete Cancelo deal

Danilo joins Juventus as Manchester City complete Cancelo deal

The Brazilian left Manchester via a private jet on Tuesday and is now in Italy putting the finishing touches on a deal which will see Joao Cancelo head in the other direction to City.

City reportedly spent £26.5 million (A$47.6 million) to bring Danilo in from Real Madrid in 2017, though he played only 34 times in the Premier League across his two seasons in England. Cancelo's arrival takes City's outlay on full-backs to £194m in two years.

Joao Cancelo is at The Lowry Hotel ahead of signing for Manchester City from Juventus.

"Everything about them has impressed me, from the facilities, to their style of play".

Juventus said they had signed Brazilian Danilo on a five-year contract for €37 million (S$57 million) while Manchester City confirmed the recruitment of Portugal global Cancelo. But rather than fear the competition, the 25-year-old hopes it will help him develop as a player.

Arsenal in talks with FC Barcelona over Philippe Coutinho deal
Tottenham are favourites to sign Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho on a season-long loan, Sky Sports News understands. He was one of four players to train at Barry University on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday's game against Napoli.

"So now I'm really looking forward to the new season and testing myself in the Premier League".

Cancelo won one Serie A title with Juventus after a 40 million euro move from Valencia a year ago. "The fans, the players and the staff have all been brilliant and i wish the Club every success in the future".

The champions' Director of Football then went on further, "He fits the profile of player we want here at Manchester City.

We stay in touch, we talk, we are good friends but I thought at the time the best for me was to join Manchester City".
