Texans sit rookie after physical joint practice

Watt and the Texans participated in a joint training camp practice at Lambeau Field on Monday, as they're set to square off against the Packers in a preseason game on Thursday, so they'll be there all week.

Since the late 1950s, Packers players have ridden children's bikes to practice during training camp while kids run alongside holding the players' helmets.

"I stood outside of those fences, and I watched practice through the fence, and I watched the bikes be ridden, and stood over by the player's parking lot and tried to get autographs". But not long after Watt, who's 6-foot-5, 285 pounds, sat on the seat and started "riding" the bike, he broke the seat. "The amount of love and support that they've shown's pretty cool".

"It's one of the coolest traditions", Watt told reporters, according to video.

Many fans, especially the younger ones, were sporting the jersey of Wisconsin native, former Badger, and now defensive end for the Texans, J.J. Watt.

"I mean, I can't walk past a kid". Those are the memories that those kids are going to have for a lifetime. "I just know what I saw out there, and that particular play, that's not what we want to be about", Packers coach Matt LaFleur said.

"It's not a big deal".

The two teams will practice together again Tuesday. "The welcome and reception I've gotten since I got back here, to see people wearing my jersey, it's pretty insane". Green Bay CB Kevin King and RBs Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones remain sidelined with hamstring injuries.
