Laurent Koscielny joins Girondins from Arsenal

Laurent Koscielny joins Girondins from Arsenal

The club has completed the Nicolas Pepe deal from Lille last week for £72m, and now they want the France Under-21 worldwide to join in.

The 33-year-old defender is on the verge of ending his nine-year spell with Arsenal as he is undergoing a medical with Bordeaux today.

Arsenal have already signed a central defender in the shape of William Saliba, but he won't properly arrive until next season following another campaign on loan with Saint Etienne. Upamecano moved to Germany as a teenager around four years ago from Valenciennes having rejected an approach from Manchester United.

With the transfer window closing on Thursday evening, the Gunners have very little time to source a potential replacement for the France worldwide.

Hints That Victoria’s Secret Has Hired Its First Transgender Model
Like how many Victoria's Secret models get their start, Valentina will appear in the VS PINK back-to-campus campaign this August. Sampaio was not hired for the show, and the company is rethinking having one at all after ratings sagged last time around.

Gunners boss, Unai Emery, needs a centre-half before the window shuts, with just Sokratis, Calum Chambers and Shkodran Mustafi available. According to BILD, Arsenal has attempted to land Upamecano with a huge bid.

Arsenal hope to secure a new centre-back before Thursday's 5pm deadline and have held talks with Red Bull Leipzig for Dayot Upamecano and Juventus for Daniele Rugani. To buy him outright, Arsenal must have £50m.

Arsenal later confirmed Koscielny had joined Bordeaux.

While Arsenal went on tour without their skipper, Koscielny stayed behind and was forced to continue reporting to their London Colney HQ and train with the club's under-23s. Only if we can sign a player who really, really can improve our squad, then we are going to do that.
