Thomas Signs New Contract Ian Auzenne 7:52 AM, Jul 31, 2019

Although, the deal Beckham signed with the New York Giants past year included $65 million guaranteed, while Thomas "only" got $61 million.

Thomas was still in the midst of his rookie contract, but was in a hold out trying to negotiate a new deal prior to the start of the 2019 season.

He's durable. Thomas has missed only one game in his career and rarely takes a play off, even in practice.

As was warranted, Sanchez was treated to a standing ovation by the majority of 24,542 in attendance as he walked off the field. Stroman, 28, who is under team control through the end of the 2020 season, is enjoying a tremendous 2019 campaign.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the deal includes $61 million in guaranteed money. The deal makes him the highest-paid receiver in National Football League history by a fairly wide margin. He added 1,405 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Running back Alvin Kamara was the team's top receiver behind Thomas last season. The Saints also recently released oft-injured wide receiver Cameron Meredith, leaving them even more in need at the position. It's the guaranteed money we all focus on, as we should, when comparing deals.

Former Ohio State and current New Orleans Saints receiver Michael Thomas is getting paid.

Thomas led the league with 125 receptions in 2018.
