Headliners Dead & Company pull out of Woodstock 50

The bombshells don't end there though, with the beleaguered festival now reportedly becoming a free benefit concert, with attendees being asked to donate to charity.

"The artist contracts are with Dentsu, not with Michael Lang or Woodstock 50", an agent with artists booked for the event tells the publication.

Fellow headliner JAY-Z and John Fogerty have also pulled out of the event, while the Black Keys wiped their name off the line-up earlier this year (Apr19) as festival bosses started experiencing financial problems. Then the festival changed location, from its home of NY and now classic rock act, John Fogerty has cancelled his appearance on the festival, one of the few original rock acts that played the 1969 Woodstock.

Woodstock 50 had been scheduled to take place at a motor racing venue in Watkins Glen, New York, but the site pulled out in June.

"At the original one - the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts", his reps wrote in a statement. On Friday night, some Woodstock stakeholders received a note that organizers "had a new plan."This weekend, artists and their representatives are revaluating the proposed rebrand".

Sources close to the Woodstock 50 event say organizers have made a decision to release tickets in the coming days free of charge with a limited number of seats being available for the show.
