Justin Bieber calls on Trump to release migrant children from detention facilities

An online petition called #JusticeForRocky has garnered more than 600 000 signatures, and posters with the words "Free ASAP Rocky ASAP" have been put up around the Swedish capital.

The 30-year-old rapper has been in Swedish custody since July 5 over his alleged involvement in a street brawl.

Late Friday night, Justin Bieber retweeted a message from the president which read, "Just spoke to [Kanye West] about his friend A$AP Rocky's incarceration. To give you one example, both inmates and the staff drink from the same municipal tap water".

Prosecutors say A$AP and 2 others in his crew may face crimes of abuse, assault and attempted assault ... remember, the assault is against the Swedish guy who first assaulted A$AP and others.

"Many, many members of the African American community have called me, friends of mine, and said could you help", Trump said to reporters on Friday in the Oval Office.

The first video the artist shared to his social media platform showed what appeared to be the beginning of the street incident that later led to the arrests.

However, the prosecutor requested the deadline be extended to next week as they needed more time to complete the investigation, which the court granted.

As you may already know, Kim Kardashian West has become an advocate for prison reform in the USA and has been able to use her name to bring attention to the corrupt over-incarceration of people of colour.

A$AP Rocky will have to remain in a Swedish prison because prosecutors believe he's a flight risk. Prior to his trip to Sweden, the rapper had performed in Paris and also posted photos from a trip to Japan.

The rapper's unusual case has become a cause celebre, attracting the attention of stars such as Kim Kardashian West, who directly appealed to the president. "I appreciate you trying to help him", he wrote on Twitter this morning (July 20). Prosecutors say they must keep the rapper behind bars because he's a flight risk.

"There have been a lot of misunderstandings about how the justice system works in Sweden", Martinsson said.

Kardashian West, who has developed a detailed relationship with the Trump administration through her advocacy for criminal justice reform, confirmed a TMZ file on Thursday that she and her husband, hip-hop big identify Kanye West, appealed to the president through his son-in-regulations and senior adviser Jared Kushner to succor free the rapper. "To keep Rocky and his colleagues in jail pending the lengthy trial proceedings is a punishment before the fact, with no due process".

In a statement to Politico, the USA state department said that said "there are certainly some facts about the arrest and detention that raise concerns".
