Donald Trump says White House to intervene in A$AP Rocky arrest

Following two weeks of detainment in a Swedish jail as prosecutors investigated his involvement in a street altercation, A$AP Rocky will now be spending another six days behind bars after being deemed a flight risk.

"Actually, the one that knew about A$AP Rocky was first was our First Lady - she told me, 'Can you help A$AP Rocky?' You want to give a statement on that?" the president said, to which the first lady replied, "I've been working with the State Department".

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said that he'd been alerted to the case by African American supporters, as well as by his wife.

Prosecutors have until Friday morning to decide whether Rocky will be formally charged.

Additionally, a Department of State official told PEOPLE that "we are aware of the arrest of a USA citizen in Stockholm".

Rapper ASAP Rocky, who has been detained in Sweden since earlier this month, is pictured at a 2017 fashion show in Paris. Many members of the African-American community have called me, friends of mine, and said can you help?

On Thursday, a person familiar with the situation confirmed to The Washington Post that Kim Kardashian West and her husband, Kanye West, who has collaborated with Rocky in the past, appealed to the White House on Rocky's behalf.

South Korea cuts interest rate as Japan trade row simmers
South Korea's policy rate was already lower than that of the USA , which now sits in a range of 2.25 percent to 2.5 percent. The decision to cut the key rate also follows a series of downward revisions in the growth outlook for the local economy.

The artist's lawyer, Slobodan Jovicic, said the decision was expected but unfair, and that A$AP Rocky is innocent.

Adriano Espaillat, a New York Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives, is also pushing for the release of the rapper, who was born in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City.

"Any time President Trump gets involved in anything, it brings a level of attention" to an issue that can not be matched by those who "don't have that cache or reach", Lanier said.

The prosecutor investigating the ASAP Rocky assault case in Sweden has asked for more time to look into it.

U.S. Representative Adriano Espaillat of NY, where Mayers was born, has also urged his release.

Kim thanked the president and senior members of his administration, saying on Twitter that their 'commitment to justice reform is so appreciated'. He declined to make comments as he left.
