In a court filing, Epstein's lawyers argued that he had long lived with the fear that federal prosecutors might pursue sexual abuse charges against him again and had never sought to flee the country. At the center of the rural swath of high desert sits a massive, million-dollar home.

As Sean Hannity noted on Fox News, Epstein "had ties to many Democratic politicians and celebrities, including big ties to.Bill Clinton, who took very many trips on Epstein's private plane" known as the Lolita Express, but now, after ignoring Epstein for years, "the mainstream media is interested because Epstein once had ties to President Trump through social events at Mar-a-Lago". He has pleaded no longer guilty to costs alleging he recruited and abused dozens of underage ladies at his mansions in NY and Palm Coastline, Fla., in the early 2000s.

On Monday, federal prosecutors indicted Epstein on charges of running a sex-trafficking operation that lured dozens of underage girls to sex parties in his NY mansion and his estate in Florida between 2002 and 2005, Trendreports citingSputnik. Prosecutors allege he paid dozens of girls as young as 14 to have sex with him at his homes in NY and Palm Beach, Fla., between 2002 and 2005. This week he had been under renewed and intense scrutiny stemming from the deal under which Epstein pleaded guilty to lesser sex crimes and served 13 months in county jail, with work release during the day.

The prosecutors said they were not bound by the 2008 Florida deal struck by Acosta, then the USA attorney for the Southern District of Florida, that allowed Epstein to plea to a lesser offence.

- Done deal: Epstein claims he is immune from the charges as a result of a non-prosecution agreement he signed with federal prosecutors in Florida in 2007.

"This course of action, and in particular its timing, suggests the defendant was attempting to further influence co-conspirators who might provide information against him in light of the recently re-emerging evaluations", prosecutors said in a filing arguing that Epstein should remain behind bars until trial.

In New Mexico, the attorney general said he has been in touch with the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of NY.

The King family still owns land surrounding much of Epstein's ranch near the town of Stanley, a rural outpost on the plains that stretch east of the Sandia Mountains.

In a 2015 court filing in Florida, a plaintiff in a lawsuit against Epstein said she had been abused at several locations, including the New Mexico property.

As the Santa Fe New Mexican reported, Balderas' office says they have been "in contact with survivors".

Since 2008, tax records for three Epstein charitable foundations the AP reviewed show $2.25 million in overall donations, of which $136,000 was for organizations related to children's education and youth programs.

King had received $15,000 from Epstein in 2006 during his first-bid for attorney general, and then received $35,000 from firms linked to Epstein in 2014. The candidates, each Democrats, donated the money to charities or returned the money.

The university didn't know of Epstein's involvement in the foundation, Pam Scott, the university's associate vice president of external communications, told the Republic.

"Now that new evidence and additional testimony is available, the NY prosecution offers an important opportunity to more fully bring him to justice", he said.
