Disney Debuts Live Action 'Mulan' Trailer

Disney Debuts Live Action 'Mulan' Trailer

The trailer appears to follow the story beats of the original film, with Mulan set for an arranged marriage she doesn't want, before leaving to join the army undercover as a man. Unlike the Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin remakes, Mulan is reportedly forgoing full-on song and dance in favor of an instrumental score. There are also some pretty badass action sequences, as Mulan trains with a bow and arrow and fights on the battlefield!

In a twist on the original film, the remake will feature some new characters while losing a few old favorites. He's been replaced by Cheng Honghui (played by Yoson An), an ambitious and slightly cocky recruit who's a member of the unit overseen by Commander Tung (Donnie Yen), Mulan's mentor and the leader of the Imperial Regiment.

There were no further clear-cut scoring opportunities as the Super Eagles knocked out the defending champions. With the half-time break closing in, the Indomitable Lions were rewarded with an equaliser in the 41st minute.

In the teaser, Mulan is told that her role is to stay "quiet, composed, graceful, disciplined", but she surprises everyone by tackling those same qualities in the role of a soldier, not a dutiful wife. With less than a year before Mulan premieres, Disney released their first teaser trailer for the film.

When Disney announced they would make a re-imagined version of Mulan, fans were skeptical. "Mulan" features a celebrated global cast that includes: Yifei Liu as Mulan; Donnie Yen as Commander Tung; Jason Scott Lee as Böri Khan; Yoson An as Cheng Honghui; with Gong Li as Xianniang and Jet Li as the Emperor. The film looks to be embracing less of the cartoon and revamping itself to look more like a Chinese war epic, and besides the teaser, we get an official synopsis for the movie as well as a kick-ass new poster. By the time spring 2020 rolls around and Mulan hits theaters, everybody ought to be DYING to see it and compare!
