Warm and humid for the holiday; chance for storms through the weekend

While we may start with some fog on Independence Day, that will burn off with highs pushing back near 90 degrees. Cooler conditions near Lake Michigan. There will also be a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms and showers throughout the day. Nothing severe expected and storms, if we see them, will be isolated and scattered. The weekend incrementally trends less hot and humid but thunderstorm chances can't be avoided with strongest and most widespread activity likely Saturday. If you're going to be outside for a while, make sure you're drinking lots of water, and taking breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
