Miles Teller and Harry Styles competing for Elvis movie role

Miles Teller and Harry Styles competing for Elvis movie role

All the actors tested for the film last weekend, and it looks like after seeing their dancing, singing and acting abilities, Luhrmann has a pretty tough job on his hands.

The Great Gatsby director Baz Luhrmann is making an Elvis Presley biopic, and given the Oscar nominated director being attached and the enduring popularity of Elvis, it is a highly sought-after role.

The now untitled biopic will focus on the legendary music icon's rise and zenith, putting a particular emphasis on his relationship with manager Col. Tom Parker, who will be played by Tom Hanks. Ansel Elgort will be starring in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story film.

As for Taylor-Johnson, he too has a large fan backing thanks to his appearances in Kick-Ass and Avengers: Age of Ultron. While Luhrmann has locked down Tom Hanks to play Parker, he's still looking for his Elvis.

Teller, 32, starred in "Whiplash" and "Fantastic Four". The film will reportedly cover Elvis' life, and specifically his relationship with Parker.

Zaha’s brother makes transfer plea to Crystal Palace amid Arsenal interest
Arsenal need a miracle to sign Zaha and now further details of their £40m bid have emerged that make it even more embarrassing. Arsenal have made Wilfried Zaha their No.1 target in the transfer window this summer.

Also taking a keen interest in the Warner Bros. project were British singer-songwriter turned actor Harry Styles and Austin Butler. In 2017, the former One Direction singer made his silver screen debut in Dunkirk.

Luhrmann will direct the movie and has penned the script alongside Craig Pearce, and the filmmaker previously said he was keen to hire a newcomer to play the late musician, who died in 1977 aged 42.

Casting remains underway for the director's upcoming film about Elvis Presley and his manager Colonel Tom Parker.

The lucky actor chosen to play a young Elvis will surely be taking on the role of a lifetime.
