Meghan in surprise visit to baseball game

The royal couple attended the game to promote Prince Harry's Invictus Games Foundation which has been partnered with the MLB's two-game London Series.

Thousands of baseball fans roared as Meghan and the Duke of Sussex entered the field at the London Stadium before the first Major League Baseball game played in Europe.

The duo then watched as the New York Yankees took on the Boston Red Sox at London's former Olympic stadium.

The start of the historic game was marked by a ceremonial first pitch, which was carried out by a few Invictus Games competitors. And, it's clear who the couple are rooting for to win the two-game series, as they showed off their sportsmanship in all-black ensembles in honor of the Bronx-based team.

As reported by The Daily Mail at the time, Meghan was recorded apparently trying to grasp Prince Harry's hand during the special occasion.

The Boston Red Sox handed over a bag containing goodies for the baby boy.

Despite the 33 degrees Celsius temperatures, Meghan kept her cool in a chic little black dress by British designer Stella McCartney.

We had a number of fans in the ground, but the noise the Indian fans make with horns makes it that much louder. He even said that the team plays better in batting-friendly pitches as the England batting-lineup goes deep.

Prince Harry worked with renowned jeweller Lorraine Schwartz, and added the birthstones for Meghan, himself and their baby son Archie on the underside of the ring, Bazaar.com reports.

Meghan grinned as the Yankees handed her a team T-Shirt bearing "ARCHIE 19".

Harry admitted his poor knowledge of the sport to the assembled Red Sox players, asking: "I'm not that current with baseball - who normally wins?"

Meghan and Betts reportedly share ancestry dating back 150 years to America's Deep South according to a USA genealogist who says both their origins can be traced back to Alabama relatives.

Harry was also pictured holding a tiny red baseball bat presented to the couple by the Red Sox.

She previously appeared with Archie and Harry at Windsor Castle just days after he was born, and she also joined fellow royals at Trooping the Colour earlier this month.
