Target stores experiencing outages nationwide

A commenter on the website's post about the Target outage said the Montgomery store has been affected and The Tuscaloosa News reported that the Target in Tuscaloosa was dealing with problems.

Target acknowledged nationwide "system issues" affecting its stores on Saturday that prevented its customers from checking out at registers.

"Our teams are troubleshooting now and we apologize for the inconvenience", the message read. "We will provide an update as soon as possible", the company said in a separate tweet.

The president's remarks came on the same day that his son Donald Jr was grilled by USA senators about his contacts with Russians. But Trump, who nominated Wray to the role in 2017, told ABC News that he disagrees. "The FBI director is wrong ", Trump said.

Customers took to social media to post photos of long lines, saying cash registers were not functioning properly. At some stores, employees passed out snacks and Starbucks beverages to customers while they waited.

An employee at the Target in Jersey City confirmed that all registers were down at Target locations across the country. The company's corporate office did not immediately respond to requests for details about the issue.

Target representatives have yet to say what might have caused the issue or when the issue is expected to be resolved.
