Memorial Day weekend promises to be sunny and warm

Memorial Day will be humid, warm, and breezy with highs in the upper 80s. Friday and Saturday, we will be mostly dry area but a few pop-up showers cannot be ruled out during the afternoons. The weekend is expected to get even hotter, with an at-record temperature of 96 degrees on Saturday and 95 on Sunday.

Sunday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 97. Short-lived though, as we see more scattered showers and storms in the forecast for Monday, especially in the afternoon.

Overnight should be cloudier as the Sunday weather-maker approaches.

A few showers linger into early Wednesday, but at least we're back to near seasonable temperatures...then, 80° Thursday with a spotty afternoon thunderstorm. In weather, a "ridge" is an area of high pressure that blocks clouds from forming and this one is bringing scorching temperatures along with it.
