Health officials warn of measles exposure at Texas airport

The report comes as measles cases have erupted across the country, with federal health officials reporting on Monday that 880 people have contracted the disease so far this year.

Professor Helen Bedford, of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, said: "If you are unvaccinated or in doubt about whether you are protected, contact your GP practice".

Those with measles can potentially infect up to 15 others if they are not immune and parents should also check their child has had the appropriate MMR vaccine.

Please know Waushara County Health Department, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, and the Center for Disease Control will continue to monitor the measles outbreak.

Note: those born between 1957 and 1989 may have had only one dose of MMR vaccine and should receive a second dose. NY state has seen the most cases with 75. As measles is highly infectious, anyone who has not received 2 doses of MMR vaccine is at risk, particularly unvaccinated people travelling to countries where there are now large outbreaks of measles. According to the public health agency, tthose who should be concerned include people who have not been vaccinated, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals.

The Spice Girls last performed with all five original members at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012. Brown said in a video on Instagram after the show that she hoped the sound "will be much much better" next time.

Head of immunisation Dr Mary Ramsay warned that with measles outbreaks across parts of Europe families should make sure they are vaccinated before they travel. The numbers of cases occurring in USA residents is also high, at 98%. It has been the worst year for the disease in the country in decades.

The child is now in good health. The virus can stay in a room for up to two hours after an infected person leaves. Rockland County, which has seen 239 cases of the measles since October 2018, have also discussed putting a few infected people, who were scheduled to fly to Israel in April to celebrate the Passover holiday, on the list. "The fact that most, if not all, of these travelers were immunized may have protected our entire community from a measles outbreak". Mumps cases tend to increase every 3 years in environments with close mixing such as festivals and universities.

The recommended two doses of the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine are about 97% effective at preventing measles, while one dose is about 93% effective.

In New Zealand, the MMR vaccine is routinely given to children at 15 months and four years old. An infected person from NY visited Detroit and unknowingly spread the virus, which led to an outbreak in MI.
