The club also completed a deal to bring 1899 Hoffenheim left-back Nico Schulz to the Westfalenstadion on Tuesday.

He added of Hazard: "We are delighted that Thorgan has chose to go with Borussia Dortmund".

Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Germany global Julian Brandt from Bayer Leverkusen for a transfer fee of €25 million.

The younger Hazard, 26, announced in April that he would join the Bundesliga runners-up this summer, once both parties had agreed terms.

"I am grateful for five great years at Borussia Monchengladbach and the wonderful memories", Hazard told Dortmund's website.

After missing out on the Bundesliga title by two points, and with reigning champion Bayern Munich in transition, Borussia Dortmund has clearly sensed an opportunity.

It will pick the story up shortly after the series finale, which was set in late 1925. Watch the new trailer now for Downton Abbey , only in theaters this September.

The 23-year-old midfielder moves to Dortmund from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of €25 million (£22m/$28m) having previously been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham.

"I am someone who sometimes follows his gut feeling", Brandt said.

"He is a seasoned Bundesliga player and Belgian national player who will help us with his pace and quality of finishing", sporting director, Michael Zorc said in a statement.

Brandt's signing has now rounded off a very busy week for Dortmund, and there could yet be more activity before the summer transfer window slams shut.

"One of the main reasons for my change is that BVB narrowly missed out on the title last season, so there is room for improvement". I want to continue my personal development.

And if he can replicate the form that saw him score 12 goals and provide seven assists in the first half of the season, Hazard will definitely prove to be a fantastic signing for Borussia Dortmund.
