Villa into playoff final after shootout win over West Brom

The club secured an impressive 4-2 victory over Leeds United on Wednesday to claim a 4-3 aggregate win against the Whites and advance to the final of this season's Championship promotion playoffs, where they will face Aston Villa.

Aston Villa took a 2-1 lead to the Hawthorns but the tie was leveled up when Craig Dawson nodded home from a long throw in the 29th minute.

Leeds and Derby are in the other playoff semi-final.

Unfortunately for Brunt, two reckless challenges in the second half on the same player saw him given his marching orders in the 80th minute - leaving Albion to play through the rest of the match and extra-time with ten men.

Bill de Blasio Fires Back at Trump: He’s ‘Low Energy!’
The mayor went on to roast Trump - firing off a series of barbs. "I know how to take him on - I've been watching him for decades". De Blasio has not shied away from criticizing Trump on issues like climate change, immigration and policing.

Whilst Albion have no debt and no need to sell, we have been told there was a verbal agreement with a number of players who were relegated from the Premier League past year, that if the team did not win promotion at the first attempt, they would be allowed to leave this summer, assuming a suitable bid was tabled.

Jonathan Kodjia, meanwhile, will presumably be working on his dab in preparation for the final on May 27 at Wembley. I was part of it last time.

The Championship play-off final is regarded as the most lucrative match in world football with last year's clash between Fulham and Villa worth about £170 million (S$300m) even if, as in Fulham's case, the winners are relegated after one season in the top flight. It's no good going on a good run and then falling at the final hurdle again. "All of us are very hungry".

Norwich have been heavily linked with Barbet in recent months, as the club now prepare for the Premier League next season.
