Disney Reveals Upcoming Films: Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar

The corporation announced its movie release calendar from 2019 to 2027, including films to be made by the newly acquired 20th Century Fox studio, and that includes a now unannounced new Star Wars trilogy for release in 2022, 2024 and 2026. Avatar 3 will arrive in Dec. 19, 2025 instead of Dec. 20, 2024, Avatar 4 is set to arrive on Dec. 19, 2025 instead of Dec. 20, 2024, and "Avatar 5" will drop on Dec. 17, 2027.

It also will have a trio of Marvel films, though two are still untitled. That leaves three unknown spots for whatever film catches Marvel's fancy. Unlike its Star Wars and Avatar arms, Disney is apparently choosing to be conservative about making superhero release-date promises any further than that. Personally, I'm super stoked for Marvel's Old Captain America and the Sea, a gritty, superhero take on a Hemingway classic. The company has previously announced plans for two film series - one overseen by "The Last Jedi" director Rian Johnson and another to be written by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the creators of HBO's hit television show "Game of Thrones".

The long wait for more "Avatar" films will go on a little longer. The other two follow on December 24, 2024, and December 18, 2026, respectively.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be released in the USA on December 20. The attractions will transport guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.

When asked about his look on the red carpet, West gamely told reporters, "This Dickies , with some Yeezy boots". She paired the look with a crystal-decorated headpiece.

Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy told The Hollywood Reporter In April at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago that she was "plotting out" the future of Star Wars on the big screen.

My other guess would be that a team-up movie won't happen until 2023, five years from now.

New movies will be coming every other year starting in 2022.
