Search for Maleah Davis: Stepfather says she was kidnapped by 3 men

At right is her stepfather, Darion Vence, with an apparent head injury, who told police that he was knocked unconscious by Maleah's abductors. Maleah, who has had multiple brain surgeries and was not feeling well that week, was not reported missing by Vence until Saturday, CNN reported. The men were driving a blue 2010 Chevrolet crew cab pickup truck and were last seen on the Southwest Freeway near State Highway 6 in Sugar Land, about 22 miles southwest of Houston, police said. Vence said he heard a popping noise and pulled over to make sure he didn't have a flat tire.

The mother's vehicle-which Vence had been driving-is missing, said police. Maleah and Vence's toddler son were sitting in the backseat. He walked to a nearby hospital, where he received treatment and reported the girl missing.

He said detectives hope the public can help them "fill in the blanks".

The auto that Vence was driving, a 2011 silver Nissan Altima with temporary tags, is still missing.

In any case, police say there's a young girl out there, they don't know where she is, and they don't know if she's alive.

Police say Vence was then hit on the head by one of the men and lost consciousness.

One of the men commented, "Maleah looks very nice, looks very sweet", Holbrook said, according to Vence's account.

The president has continually said America is getting the short end of the stick when it comes to our trade agreements with China. In total, America has tariffs on US$250 billion of Chinese goods, while China has tariffs on US$110 billion of American goods.

"She's needed a lot of care", he said.

A blue pickup truck then pulled up behind the vehicle.

"I'd like to know if anyone has seen these people", Holbrook said. Maleah's biological father, who also lives in the Houston area, has been contacted by authorities and is being cooperative, Holbrook said. Holbrook said that the Altima was spotted at an intersection in Sugar Land around 3 p.m. Saturday. "If somebody saw him, if maybe he was walking around in a daze, I'd love to know anything about that".

Sgt. Mark Holbrook detailed the allegations in a press conference Sunday.

"She's a spunky little thing, you know, and she's handsome", Amber Fannin, a family friend helping with the search, told KPRC.

"If you have her, just please drop her off somewhere safe". She was last seen wearing a light blue Under Armour jacket, blue jeans, and gray Under Armour tennis shoes with pink and white details.
