Facebook's Oculus Quest and Rift S will ship May 21 for $399

You can read our review of the Oculus Rift S here. The company also introduced the Oculus Quest, a new standalone, self-contained mobile VR system. Oculus Rift S is available for pre-order now through Oculus dot com (same as the Oculus Quest), and shipping starts on May 21st, 2019.

With InstaVR, you can already utilize a wide variety of 3D file formats, including FBX, OBJ, and VRML.

Are you tempted to get the Oculus Quest or Oculus Rift S? Touch interaction is automatically enabled when 3D models are deployed, allowing for maximum interactivity. It'll be able to play all the same games as the original Rift headset but, like that product, does require a connected PC with enough graphical punch to deliver on those experiences. Existing InstaVR features including Success Reports are compatible with the new publishing outlets too. It includes some new figures on the install base of VR headsets, which SuperData reckons reached 14m by the end of 2018, but will grow to 51m by 2022.

Those efforts, though, could equally pay off on making sure the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL experience isn't a frustrating one. As per leaks, both Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL will come with a single 12.2MP rear camera and a single 8MP selfie snapper.

The Oculus Quest is an all-in-one device, so it is not powered by your PC.

If you're looking for the best virtual reality experience your hard-earned cash can buy, then you'll want to check out the latest VR headsets from Oculus. As well as improving the experience on offer the Rift S is said to be more comfortable, and includes Passthrough+, a true stereo-correct visual passthrough feature which will facilitate both HMD-on real world interaction and mixed reality experiences. The Rift S can access the same gaming library as the Rift.

The new Oculus Rift S VR Headset is available for $399. The company is now taking pre-orders for both on Oculus' official website.
