Nissan’s GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition Is a Thing of Beauty

Nissan’s GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition Is a Thing of Beauty

In the case of the Track Edition, the hand-built, twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V6 engine receives new turbochargers that elevate output to 600 horsepower and torque to 481 pound-feet.

A six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission continues to direct power to all four wheels, but its track-ready R drive mode features different programming. The new front fender vents, which help cool the engine and provide downforce, are one of the few noticeable ways to differentiate the 2020 from the 2019 model.

Celebrating 50 years isn't something you do every day, which is why Nissan used the eve of the NY auto show to launch the GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition.

Much like the king of monsters it was named after, the Nissan GT-R is an incredibly powerful beast capable of destroying its toughest foes. Now, the color has returned and features new white racing stripes as well.

The Dunlops are working with a newly revised suspension for claimed smoother ride quality, and increased cornering stability. Nissan says this is because out of the entire 2020 model lineup, the Sport "represents the true enthusiast spirit of the original model".

Black Churches Burned in Connected Louisiana Arsons
Matthews-who faces both arson and hate crime charges- pleaded not guilty to all charges Monday, The Acadania Advocate reported. He's been charged with three counts of hate crimes and a previous simple arson charge has been elevated to aggravated arson.

The Track Edition and the hard-core NISMO model get redesigned turbochargers from the latest GT-R GT3 race vehicle. Nissan says the steering is more precise and linear than before, and stopping power is improved thanks to a new carbon ceramic brake package that uses 16.1-inch Brembo rotors up front and 15.3-inch Brembo rotors in the rear. It also uses a new titanium muffler, giving it a better exhaust note. Even though Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition is just an appearance package, the Japanese company did some minor changes.

Pricing for the 2020 Nissan GT-R and 370Z has yet to be announced. There's Pearl White with red stripes and Super Silver with white stripes, but the Bayside (Wangan) Blue with white stripes is arguably the most significant. Additional 50th anniversary features include unique steering wheel and shift knob trim, special embossed seats, an Alcantara headliner with unique stitching, Alcantara-wrapped sunvisors, and more.

The more substantial changes concern the more extreme GT-R Track Edition and GT-R Nismo models, but the base vehicle, known as the Premium, benefits from a special 50th anniversary package that's available with the GT-R's iconic Bayside Blue paint.

The 2020 GT-R Track Edition also comes standard with a carbon fibre roof that not only reduces weight, but also significantly lowers the car's centre of gravity.

The GT-R has gone through change after change after change after change.
