Barcelona Are The Biggest Spenders On Wages In The Champions League

One of the greatest players of all time will grace the Old Trafford turf on Wednesday night as Barca visit in the first leg of a mouth-watering quarter-final clash.

The 21-year-old striker is set to enter the last year of his current contract at United in the summer but the club have the option to extend it by an extra 12 months.

Solskjaer talked down the fact that he needs to have a big impact against Barca if United are to progress, saying it will be a team effort if they are to upset the odds, as well as reassuring fans that Pogba is going nowhere.

"All the big sides go through good times and bad times, and there are periods of transition".

The Champions League represents United's only chance of silverware this season with the Red Devils now sixth in the Premier League, 21 points behind leaders Liverpool.

Barcelona are looking for a first Champions League title since 2014/15, but Gerard Pique has dismissed the notion the players feel extra pressure to lift the trophy after seeing Real Madrid win it in each of the previous three seasons.

The central defender also had words for Real Madrid: "It is not a surprised. Real Madrid have won the Champions Leagues that they have won these years, but we have also had success".

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted Paul Pogba will still be a Manchester United player next season and urged the midfielder to show his worth against Barcelona. I'm happy to see him in charge of Manchester United, he's done a great job, he's won lots of games playing much better. "When I returned to Barcelona I was a very different person".

"I can not see him not playing for Man United next season either", added the Norwegian coach. When I arrived here I was 17, very young, and he was one of the oldest. "Solskjaer helped me a lot when I was at Manchester United". So, he is only focused on playing well tomorrow against Barcelona and I can not see him not playing for Man United next season either.
