Xiaomi's 100W Super Charge Turbo Technology Can Fully Charge in 17 Minutes

Lin Bin, President and co-founder of Xiaomi, has shared a video of its latest fast charging technology which can charge the smartphone at 100W - twice as fast as the Oppo SuperVOOC. The Xiaomi smartphone on the test bench has a 4000 mAh battery, whereas the Oppo smartphone has a 3500 mAh battery with Super VOOC fast charging technology.

A phone charging isn't exactly enthralling footage but the 39-second time-lapse video does offer the exciting prospect of waiting just 17 minutes to fully charge a phone.

Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch a fast-charging technology, namely, Super Charge Turbo which might be the one to beat when it officially come to the market.

Both Huawei and Oppo have been pushing charging technology in 2018, as Huawei's Mate 20 Pro offered 40 watt speeds and the Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition delivered a 50 watt charging rate. Today, the company showed off a 100W "Super Charge Turbo" technology on China's Twitter-clone Weibo. The 100W Super Charge Turbo fast charging technology could fully charge a 4,000mAh phone in just 17 minutes. Oppo's SuperVOOC, which is rated at 50W power output is the fastest wired charging, available on a smartphone right now.

The specific details of Super Charge Turbo are yet to be revealed by the company. In comparison, Oppo's proprietary Super VOOC Flash Charge fast charging technology was able to charge a 3,700mAh phone to 65 percent. The fast-charging tech could arrive in the company's forthcoming phone running on a Snapdragon 855.
