Huawei's new laptops can pair with a phone with one tap

It sets a new benchmark for 14-inch notebooks with its new display standard, high performance and device inter-connectivity features. Supporting Huawei's One Glass solution, the display not only tracks multiple touch inputs with high precision but supports the Finger Gestures Screenshot as well. It's hard to accurately cut contents into a screen shot with a pudgy index finger. Instead, the common understanding is this phone will be unveiled late next month during a dedicated Huawei event. Weighing in at just 1.3 kilograms, the MateBook 13 definitely resides in ultrabook country.

These big announcements include a slight refresh to the Matebook X Pro, a 14 inch machine inventively named the Matebook 14, and a slight change to the Matebook 13 that was originally announced at CES.

The new stuff for the MateBook X Pro all comes on the inside, where Huawei has upgraded its flagship notebook with your choice of either an 8th-gen Intel Core i5-8265U or i7-856U CPU, larger storage, support for Thunderbolt 3 for one of its USB-C ports, and improved networking thanks to Bluetooth 5.0 and faster 802.11ac wi-fi. Interestingly, Matebook 14 is also designed with a pop-up camera housed in the keyboard, which appears when you need it. All of those workings get cooled with Huawei's Shark Fin 2.0 fan system, 20 percent more efficient than its predecessor.

While there's still a lot Huawei needs to reveal in its press conference, it has told us that the battery will last 15 hours of work, 14 hours of video playback, and 10.5 hours of web browsing.

A new feature on the X-Pro enable users to tap their Huawei phone to one of its new laptops to pair them, and transfer content between the two. By shaking the phone and tapping "PC HUAWEI Share" on the computer, a screen recording of the notebook will be sent to the smartphone.

Mueller probe doesn't totally exonerate Trump
Nadler noted that Barr "made a decision" to not charge the President with obstruction of justice "in under 48 hours". If Mueller's report is released in its entirety, we may learn new information about the Trump campaign's activity.

In terms of device unlocking speed, today's notebooks still leave much to be desired, especially when compared to smartphones. Even this laptop has a fingerprint sensor embedded into the power button. Combined with BIOS optimizations; this innovative solution streamlines the device boot-up experience and lets users jump right back into action.

On the audio side, the MateBook X Pro carries Dolby Atmos certification, with four speakers inside the laptop's main body. Dolby Atmos creates an incredible headphone experience with breathtaking, moving audio that flows above and around you.

Along with the new hardware comes a new software experience, with Huawei trying to tackle multi-device management. That means you won't be able to really take advantage of it in the U.S. where Huawei phones aren't widely available.

Meanwhile, the HUAWEI MateBook 13 redefines the standard for display, performance and cross-platform interconnection in the 13-inch mainstream notebook segment.

"It is our most powerful, portable and intelligent all-purpose device yet, and we're excited to bring that to the hands of consumers", Wang Yinfeng, President of PC and Tablet Product Line, Huawei Consumer Business Group, said in a statement. Huawei hasn't announced USA pricing and availability yet, but if those prices hold up, it will be much more expensive than the original, which topped out at $1,499 and started at $1,199.
