Huawei P30 & Pro release date, price & specs

Huawei P30 Pro will be packed with a 4200 mAh battery.

One of the biggest differences between the P30 Pro and the smaller P30 is the addition of a time-of-flight - or ToF - sensor just underneath the flash module, allowing for a far more accurate 3D mapping of a scene. Its upcoming flagship, the P30 Pro, will feature 10x hybrid zoom and other impressive camera capabilities.

The third and most remarkable lens is actually an 8MP, 125mm periscope zoom with OIS. Instead, Huawei uses an acoustic display technology that vibrates the top of the panel to produce sound. Huawei P30 is expected to start at Euro 749 (around Rs. 58,500) for 6GB+128GB model and the P30 Pro will carry a premium price tag of Euro 1,024 (roughly Rs. 80,000) for 8GB+128GB configuration.

In something of a surprise, Chinese manufacturer Huawei in 2018 overtook Apple as the largest shipper of smartphones in the world.

Huawei is once again banking heavily on the camera aspect of the new phones.

In particular, the firm was keen to discuss the fact it has reconstructed the RGB model offered by the device, a fundamental system used to display colours in photos.

Huawei P30 series has been subjected to several leaks.

Brexit deal finds new friends as Parliament takes over
May is still holding talks with lawmakers and could try to hold a third vote on the deal on Thursday . Some lawmakers have asked May to name her departure date as the price for supporting her deal.

The OEM has insisted the device comes with improved video stabilisation and low-light performance.

And speaking of which, it's worth noting that the P30 sports a headphone jack while the P30 Pro does not. The Huawei P30 Pro features a new quad-camera setup that includes a 40MP f/1.6 aperture wide camera, a 20MP f/2.2 aperture ultra-wide camera, an 8MP f/3.4 aperture 5X telephoto camera and a Time of Flight camera. As for the front camera, it comes with a 32MP sensor on both phones.

An optical fingerprint sensor has been placed underneath the panel and Huawei has stated it should perform faster and more accurately than that on the Mate 20 Pro.

Huawei is also yet to blow us away with the sonic aptitude of its smartphones, but the P30 Pro seems to be as easy a listen as its predecessors. You get £40 to spend at any of the following: Tesco, H&M, M&S, Uber Eats.

That means the new hardware only has a single speaker on its bottom.

As you'd expect, both new phones run Android Pie along with the latest version of Huawei's EMUI. Powered is provided by a 4,200mAh battery that features 40W Huawei Supercharge, which can charge the phone from 0 to 70 percent in just 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, with the P30 Pro being very much under wraps when we saw it, the handsets weren't connected to the internet. Alongside a basic Black, there is also Pearl White, Breathing Crystal (light blue), Amber Sunrise (orange) and Aurora (blue-green, based on the Northern Lights). This sensor will also come handy in facilitating future mobile AR developments, but exclusively on the P30 Pro as it's missing from the P30.
