"Cuphead" Gets A Nintendo Switch Port, Complete With Xbox Live Support

Nintendo is teaming up with Frito-Lay to add superstar characters from some of its hit Nintendo Switch games to the in-store packaging of various Frito-Lay Variety Packs. Nintendo announced today that it had reached a deal with their "our friends at Microsoft" over publishing privileges, later revealing the aforementioned line of support in a later posting. Starting on March 25 and running through May 19, the spring promotion will include package art featuring the three characters Mario, Luigi and Yoshi from various Nintendo Switch games like New Super Mario Bros. This would seem to suggest that certain Switch games will be able to share their online scores across other platforms with the help of Xbox Live. "We'll be working with Studio MDHR to implement Xbox Live features into Cuphead on the Nintendo Switch in the coming months", Nintendo reps mentioned in a post to Xbox Wire. You play as Hue, who must explore this unusual new world filled with intelligent tribes and find a new home for your people. Hopefully, this could also be the first in a long line of Xbox Live supported titles for Nintendo's console. The Nintendo Switch release should push that figure even further.

Microsoft revealed last week it'd be bringing Live to iOS and Android, offering the same aforementioned benefits to mobile gamers. It will come to the Nintendo Switch on April 18, 2019.
