New York Giants GM Dave Gettleman: ‘Trust me, we have a plan’

New York Giants GM Dave Gettleman: ‘Trust me, we have a plan’

Calls were coming to us, and the only one I reached out to was, again, Buffalo, and I was just as much giving (G.M.) Brandon (Beane, with whom he worked in Carolina) a hard time as anything else.

Gettleman called Beckham a tremendous talent, but said the Giants got three assets in return, at the very least.

The Cleveland Browns landed Beckham in exchange for a first- and third-round pick in this year's draft and safety Jabrill Peppers.

Gettleman said the only call he initiated about Beckham was to the Bills after seeing their interest in Antonio Brown did not lead to a deal.

The Giants did it though, and now Odell Beckham is a Cleveland Browns' receiver.

Call of Duty: Mobile is Coming Soon
The pre-registrations are now open in select regions, including North America, South America, Europe, and other territories. That said, it is not hard to see where Activision is coming from with the announcement of Call of Duty: Mobile .

"As I said publicly twice, we didn't sign him to trade him, but obviously things change", Gettleman said. Beckham had clashed with the Giants in recent seasons but many believe the Giants had given up one of the best wide receivers in the league cheaply - especially after they had only just paid the 26-year-old a $20m signing bonus on a new contract, and Gettleman had said: "We didn't sign Odell to trade him". He also admitted to numerous conversations with the San Francisco 49ers past year, though nothing materialized. Getting rid of Beckham, he insists, is not a contradiction. Two years ago, if a player were to get traded to the Browns, it would seem like they are facing the end of their competitive career.

"Speaking of value, you ask me how we came to this". He says the Giants got that in Peppers plus the No. 17 overall pick and a third-rounder.

Entering his second season overseeing the Giants, Gettleman admitted the team is undergoing a rebuild and has multiple holes on the roster to plug.

Gettleman said it was not his responsibility to discuss the Giants' plan for the future. "Over time, you have to be patient".
