Odell Beckham trade: Reaction from NY

Odell Beckham trade: Reaction from NY

In exchange for OBJ, the Giants received safety Jabrill Peppers as well as a first and third-round draft pick.

The deal is conditional on both players passing physicals. Despite a frightful 0-16 2017 campaign, the Browns are loaded on offense and could be a serious threat next season. Cleveland hasn't been to the playoffs since 2002.

By most accounts, the Browns won the Beckham trade.

While Beckham is immensely talented, there is some baggage as he can be temperamental and hard.

Gilmore and Beckham have only played against each other once in their career in a Week 4 contest between the Giants and the Buffalo Bills in 2015. He was the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2014.

That's a big haul for the Giants as they enter what could be a multi-year rebuilding mode, but what it does for the Browns could be franchise-changing. However, in the end, he landed in Cleveland.

"So many mixed emotions and feelings", Beckham wrote on Instagram on Thursday morning. Quarterback Eli Manning has been in decline which has hurt Odell's production.

Beckham will no doubt be looking for new digs in the Cleveland area. "Movement" was the caption.

This also means removing current pieces such as Landon Collins and recently trading star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. The Browns obliged and the sides mutually chose to cancel the deal struck earlier in the day.

OK, maybe back this one up a bit (not too far, though, Dan).

Landing Beckham is his signature move, a signal that he believes the Browns are on the verge of a Super Bowl run. New England has an appointment with the Giants during the 2019.

In the past week, the next step has turned into a rebuild.

Kimberly Jones of NFL Media spoke with Beckham following the trade, who said he was "trying to process it", while calling the trade "bittersweet". The former National Football League quarterback on Tuesday's "Get Up!" asserted the Browns are a legitimate threat to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl next February.
