Giants trade Odell Beckham Jr. to Browns and social media erupts

Beckham is set to join the Browns after the AFC North squad agreed to a trade with the New York Giants on Tuesday.

The Browns are sending a first and third-round pick in 2019 along with safety Jabrill Peppers to the Giants for Beckham, one of the NFL's top players.

The Giants now have picks number 6 and 17 in the first round of the draft.

Despite missing the final four games of the season with an injury in 2018, Beckham once again broke the 1,000-yard mark for the fourth time in five seasons.

Francesco Molinari Shoots Final-Round 64 to Win Arnold Palmer Invitational
Molinari did it playing a new set of clubs for the first time, but it was his putter that carried him to victory on Sunday. He escaped nine with a par after "probably the worst mud ball I've ever had.it was good to get away with a four there".

If things go terribly wrong, the Browns, barring a restructure, can get out of the deal without a salary-cap hit after the 2020 season. I was not expecting (Beckham to come, too). The decision backfired nearly immediately, as Beckham hinted nearly right away that he wanted out of NY, and the Giants got off to a 1-7 start.

That matchup was going to be intriguing regardless thanks to the aura around Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb and what Cleveland has built with a young roster, but Rams-Browns could be one of the best games of 2019 with Beckham in the mix.

The difference between the Browns depth chart at receiver and the Giants depth chart is startling. The worry is that eventually, he will wear out his welcome as he did in NY. "And hopefully, they are some of the pieces that will help us awaken this sleeping giant", Dorsey continued.

With the move, the Browns' odds to win the Super Bowl LIV next season have increased. If the Giants were blown away with an offer, the move might have made more sense. But they're committed to Eli Manning, with Gettleman most recently saying "the Chiefs model worked really well" in regard to drafting Patrick Mahomes and having him sit as a rookie behind Alex Smith. Giants running back Saquon Barkley took home the award in 2017.
