Donald Trump brands Democrats an 'anti-Israel' and 'anti-Jewish' party

President Donald Trump branded a resolution passed in response to Democratic Rep. lIhan Omar's anti-Semitic comments as "disgraceful".

It is unclear whether the text will mention Rep. Ilan Omar (D-MN), whose latest anti-Jewish remarks prompted the House of Representatives to pass an anti-hate resolution Thursday.

The Wisconsin lawmaker said on NBC's "Meet the Press" that the resolution passed by the House of Representatives that broadly condemns all forms of bigotry, "was really clearly an effort to actually protect Ilhan Omar, to cover up her bigotry and anti-Semitism by refusing to name her".

Rep. Liz Cheney (R., Wyo.) excoriated House Democrats for failing to put forward a resolution focused exclusively on condemning anti-Semitism in the wake of Rep. Ilhan Omar's (D., Minn.) remarks accusing Israel's supporters of having dual allegiance.

Omar had deleted and apologized for tweets in which she used anti-semitic tropes talking about a pro-Israel lobby group's influence on American politicians.

Cheney, who in part lead the charge in hammering Iowa Republican Rep. Steve King over his comments supporting nationalism, was among 22 other Republicans who voted against the resolution, all of whom said that while they supported combatting hate, the resolution was ultimately irrelevant because it ignored Omar's comments.

Here’s what Gayle King was thinking during the R. Kelly interview
He's saying that there is a hate crime so if I am too hard, then my LGBT community is going to say, you don't believe a brother. Dana Perino: That was not Gayle King . "All you had to do was push a button on your phone and say 'so-and-so did this to me, R.

One of the "no" votes was Rep.

"I don't think it watered down the anti-Semitic language at all, I think it strengthened it", Pelosi responded. Omar suggested pro-Israel advocates have a foreign allegiance to Israel - which plays on the anti-Semitic trope of dual loyalty - and weeks ago suggested people who are pro-Israel are motivated by money. Others questioned whether a resolution was necessary at all and viewed it as unfairly singling out Omar at a time when Trump and others have made disparaging racial comments. "I was saying how Trump is different from Obama, and why we should focus on policy not politics", she said in the tweet. Last week, Pelosi was mugging on the cover of the celebratory issue of Rolling Stone with Omar and her bestie, apologist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), because it failed to mention Omar by name. And with this power, she made a decision to place a doltish hater of Jews, someone with radical positions and absolutely no relevant experience, on the House Foreign Affairs Committee to appease the growing anti-Israel contingent in her party. "It is shameless considering his own not only failing to condemn Charlottesville on the first try".

"Today is historic on many fronts".

"Our nation is having a hard conversation and we believe this is great progress", they wrote. He remains in Congress, and on Thursday couldn't even bring himself to vote for the resolution condemning bigotry, instead marking himself as "present".

Now, they're on record as opposing a seven-page resolution that didn't do much more than declare that anti-Semitism, anti-Muslim discrimination and other forms of plain bigotry "are contrary to the values of aspirations of the United States".
