Winter Weather Advisory for Much of Iowa Thursday

Winter Weather Advisory for Much of Iowa Thursday

It's highly likely snow will continue to fall on the higher parts of the Scottish mountains.

Saturday night: HIGH impact-widespread snow and blowing snow will make travel hard if not impossible in many areas.

However, as low pressure pushes northeast early Sunday morning, temperatures will fall to the 20s, and with that, snow will come.

Temperatures will also drop to between 0 and 3 degrees in the nighttime.

Friday we'll see a lull in the activity as temperatures flirt around the 40 degree mark for daytime highs.

Colder weather could lead to snow hitting the lower levels of Scotland over the next few days, the Met Office has predicted.

Mixed precipitation is expected with freezing drizzle and freezing rain turning to snow tomorrow morning. Breezy with sunny spells and isolated showers on Monday. There could well be gales and outbreaks of rain followed by some showers.

Temperatures this week have been very different, with mild temperatures and heavy rainfall.

Tuesday will be windy with widespread heavy showers, some of hail with a risk of thunder.

"A whole different set of impacts will play out if 1/2" of rain is realized anywhere in our area. Highs will be in the low 60s before dropping into the low 50s.

Saturday will be very cool with highs struggling to climb out of the 30s. Wind: NE/E 5-10. High: 53. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78.

It'll be a good weekend to be inside and a great place to do that is the WYMT Sport, Boat and RV Show going on Friday through Sunday at the East Kentucky Expo Center in Pikeville.
