Indian pilot was captured after Pakistan Air force shot down two Indian fighter jets.

A large crowd at the Wagah border had started converging from 6 am on Friday, waiting for a glimpse of the pilot, whose release was secured on Thursday when Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that he will be returned to India as a "peace gesture".

A new videotaped statement of uniformed Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan was broadcasted on Friday after he was handed over to India on Wagah border. This news brought a wave relief to Indians as everyone wanted their nation's hero back.

The pilot's fate has become pivotal to efforts to resolve the most serious military confrontation in the region since the two countries last went to war in 1999. Pakistan retaliated, shooting down two Indian aircraft Wednesday and capturing a pilot. President Donald trump in Hanoi on Thursday said he had been involved in seeking to de-escalate the conflict.

In a video message on Wednesday, Imran Khan, Pakistan's prime minister, called for "dialogue" to ease tensions between the countries.

The petitioner said the Indian pilot had violated the airspace of Pakistan to bomb the country and therefore he committed crime against Pakistan and should face trial here.
