The Z Camera also enables touchless gestures like turning virtual knobs to change the volume.

It comes equipped with front-facing time-of-flight camera (ToF) camera that reads blood vessels in your palm to unlock your phone. There is a Video Portrait mode that lets users control the bokeh while shooting videos from the rear camera.

Talking about the specifications, LG V50 ThinQ sports a bigger 6.4-inch OLED FullVision display with QHD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The phone is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance, as well as MIL-STD 810G compliance. V50 ThinQ will come in only Astro Black hue, while its Dual Screen cover will be available in New Aurora Black colour.

The LG G8 ThinQ is now official as the latest entry in LG's G series of Android flagships.

LG has unveiled its first 5G smartphone ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019, hosting a launch event on Sunday night in Barcelona for the V50 ThinQ that's set to go on sale in spring.

Moving on from hand stuff, the rest of the LG G8's interest lies in its camera and audio tech.

Rodgers focused on Motherwell game amid Leicester speculation
First Team Coaches Mike Stowell and Adam Sadler will take over control of the squad while the club looks for a replacement. The Foxes also suffered a shock exit in the FA Cup third-round to League Two side Newport County on January 6.

For imaging, the LG V50 ThinQ flaunts three cameras at the rear comprising of a 16MP super-wide f/1.9 primary sensor.

The V50 inherits the triple-lens rear camera LG introduced with the V40 late past year. Crystal Sound OLED, an audio advancement that uses the smartphone's display as a speaker diaphragm, eliminates the need for a front speaker, adding to the minimalist aesthetic. The Z camera is pretty capable as it can identify the owner by recognizing the shape, thickness, and other individual characteristics of veins inside the palms of their hands.

Once unlocked, Air Motion gestures take this one step further, allowing users to control things like music playback, alarms, timers and taking screenshots without touching the G8 ThinQ.

LG is actually doing this, though. LG told us it is the decision of the carriers which one they stock. The LG V50 ThinQ features Qualcomm's current standard Snapdragon 855 processor paired with X50 5G modem, as well as a 6.4-inch OLED display, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage standard. At this point, it doesn't seem like you can stretch apps or content across both screens, but that's probably for the best anyway; when fully opened, there's about half an inch of dead space separating the two displays.

There's now no word on the pricing and availability details of the LG G8 ThinQ but it would be safe to assume that it will land in the price bracket as its predecessor, going up against the likes of Samsung 10e and iPhone XR, or neither, based on the response to LG smartphones in recent times.
