New York Times Investigates The Hell Out Of Stuff [Satire — KLAVAN

Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe testifies on Capitol Hill in 2017. And I think all of this is just partisan attacks...

President Trump is refuting claims made in a New York Times report that he asked then-acting attorney general Matthew Whitaker to replace the prosecutor in charge of Michael Cohen's case in New York.

Trump was asked on Tuesday, after the Times story published online, about his reported inquiry to Whitaker.

Berman is viewed as a Trump ally but recused himself from the investigation.

Bergquam said he agrees with Trump's "fake news" claims, but that the attacker "made all MAGA-hat wearers look bad". "I at no time got the impression that he'd actually sought support, or talked to those people about it, or asked people, you know, 'would you support this?' or 'would you not'".

Whitaker earlier this month told the House Judiciary Committee that Trump never asked him to interfere in the Russian Federation probe or any other investigation. Those allegations prompted McCabe's March 2018 firing.

Preet Bharara, the former U.S. attorney who is now a CNN contributor, later said he felt if he had stayed on the job, Trump would have asked him "to do something inappropriate".

McCabe said Thursday that Republicans on Capitol Hill were engaged in a "consistent and obvious attempt" to protect the president by undermining law enforcement.

President Donald Trump listens during a meeting with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz in the Oval Office at the White House in Washington, D.C., on February 20, 2019.

"I realized that he was offering me the opportunity to adopt his narrative", he said of the president's comments.

He added: "It was, of course, contrary to the truth and it was not something that I could do".

"The New York Times reporting is false".

Two days later, top FBI officials launched investigations into the president.

In fact, McCabe held the position for almost three months before it was filled. He prepared memos on his conversations with Trump that were subsequently provided to Mueller's team. The newspaper claims Mr Trump chose to say he had asked Flynn to resign because it "sounds better".

"This was the illegal and treasonous "insurance policy" in full action". Trump has repeatedly slammed the Mueller investigation as a "witch hunt" and insisted there was "NO COLLUSION" with Russian Federation. Trump biographer David Cay Johnston slammed the president in an interview on Wednesday, saying there's "abundant evidence" he has committed crimes in office and even linked Trump to the Kremlin.
