Duel at the U.S. border as deal reached in DC

"He's got to quit trying to instill fear", said Sigman, referring to Trump's false claim that El Paso was one of the most unsafe cities in the country before a border wall was built about 10 years ago.

During his remarks Monday night, Trump also said he had 35,000 people while O'Rourke had a few hundred.

Trump said people are always telling him he should get a dog because it looks good politically. Thousands attended O'Rourke's event, but Trump estimated the crowd at 200 or 300 people.

"Walls work", said Trump, whose rally was repeatedly interrupted by protesters. The president did credit him for having a "great first name". But treating the political world to 2020's first dueling rallies may indicate O'Rourke is ready to join the race.

President Donald Trump told the crowd at his rally in El Paso, Texas, on Monday that he got special permission from the El Paso Fire Department to let 10,000 people inside the El Paso County Coliseum. O'Rourke thinks this fencing is not only unnecessary but harmful, because it makes it more hard for people from Mexico and Central America to enter the United States.

"With the eyes of the country upon us, all of us together are going to make our stand here in one of the safest cities in America", O'Rourke said as music and cheers from Trump's rally blared on to the field.

But the Democrats did back down from their demand to limit the number of detentions by ICE.

"Some may be happy, some may not be happy", said Lowey, assessing how Democrats would receive the deal and saying she hoped the agreement would have the votes needed to pass the House.

U.S. President Donald Trump listens next to Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross during a Cabinet meeting at the White House in Washington, U.S., February 12, 2019. "You don't have to be indoctrinated by these loser teachers that are trying to sell you on socialism from birth".

But on the other hand, there are clubs like "Phoenix" or "San Antonio", which only once in the "regular" played overtime. Bookmaker offices, as a rule, estimate the probability of a draw with coefficients from 10.00 to 15.00.

"As I was walking up to the stage, they said that progress is being made with this committee".

Trump traveled to El Paso, Texas, for a rally Monday evening, and he was expected to restate his case for tougher immigration rules.

O'Rourke gave GOP Sen. On Monday, Trump said he had not yet heard the details of the tentative agreement, but he said it would not matter, because he would build the wall one way or another. The crowd roared in agreement.

El Paso had a murder rate of less than half the national average in 2005, a year before the most recent expansion of its border fence. That's despite being just across the border from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, a city plagued by drug violence.

The group is heading to a venue across a small side street from the arena where Trump is holding his own a rally. Now, immediately upon its building with a powerful barrier in place, El Paso is one of our safest cities.

While Democrats oppose the wall, they support border security efforts. There were the theatrics of being right on the U.S. -Mexico border while another government shutdown looms over funding for Trump's border wall.

Some conservative lawmakers are already criticizing the deal.

Former Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-Texas), who had previously challenged Republicans for a Senate seat, and other El Paso leaders led a counter-demonstration to Trump's rally on Monday. The president meets with administration officials after a bipartisan group of lawmakers, after hours of deliberations, announced that they had reached "an agreement in principle" on legislation to fund the government past the Friday deadline and avert another government shutdown.
