AAF Actually Lets Fans Watch and Listen to Referees During Replay Reviews

AAF Actually Lets Fans Watch and Listen to Referees During Replay Reviews

They had a good start this weekend. I think a spring league with actual draws could exceed what the American is worth.

Week 1 of the newly-formed Alliance of American Football league (AAF) worked out just about as well as anyone could've hoped. Given the rule differences, this makes the games very interesting. It matched up the San Antonio Commanders versus the San Diego Fleet in one game and the Orlando Apollos and Atlanta Legends in another.

The plan is to expand to more teams as soon as possible, which would help, but that would just water down the talent level even further.

The league consists of eight teams and all of these players are getting recognition and work that they wouldn't otherwise get - so kudos to the AAF for putting this league together.

Hackenberg showed a lot of the things that made him a failure with the New York Jets, making a lot of bad throws and taking sacks.

With those teams comes the players and coaches, some of whom are fairly recognizable to a football fan. If each offense finishes their OT attempt with the same result (touchdown with a successful two-point conversion, touchdown without a successful two or failure to score altogether), the game will end in a tie. If a team is trailing by 17 points or less, or the game is in its final five minutes, a team can elect to play an "onsides down".

Remembering the Twitter legacy of former Michigan Rep. John Dingell
Around the time of his retirement, Dingell told the Detroit Free Press: "I'm not going to be carried out feet first". His last post was the day before his death, in which he wrote: "You're not done with me just yet".

Quinn believes it absolutely is because it not only has developmental abilities in terms of helping get players to the National Football League, but it is capable of developing other "positions" in the National Football League community too. First off, there are no kickoffs.

QB Josh Woodrum (Salt Lake Stallions) - The star of Ravens training camp in 2017 started for the Stallions and went 10-for 22 for 103 yards with one touchdown and one interception before leaving the game with a hamstring injury.

I know I will continue to watch the AAF season, then again, I watched every XFL game I could in 2001, so maybe I'm not the best barometer. As it is the impact of the return has been diminished with rules changes over the years and it seems too often like a waste of time. The more you play the more acclimated you become. It was fast and left you wanting more.

This was evident when fans could hear and see everything happening in the replay review booth. Fans watching on television are actually able to listen to referees during the process.

In order to accomplish this vision, the founders felt it was essential to hire quality coaches to give the league instant credibility, but also, to address what it perceived to be a shortfall in how the NFL coaches some of the more peripheral players.
