Moto G7 Power Unboxing & Tour

Moto G7 Power Unboxing & Tour

If Moto's budget phone lineup was a real family, the G7 would be the favourite child. It also boasts phase-detection autofocusing for faster and more accurate focusing. The devices are available today in Brazil and Mexico, and are rolling out to most other regions in the coming weeks. Theres a 12MP selfie camera with portrait and group selfie modes. There are several camera-centric software optimizations including Smart Composition, Super Slow Motion at 250fps and Auto Smile Capture. The phone also features a secondary 5MP depth sensor. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset. The Moto G7 and G7 Plus come with waterdrop notch while the G7 Power and G7 Play come with a wide notch.

Motorola announced its new $300 Moto G7 smartphone on Thursday, and it's an exciting time for smartphone users who aren't so keen on spending big. It promises 12 hours of usage in just 15 minutes of charging. On the plus side, the phone is compatible with any QC4.0 or USB PD3.0 charger. The display has a regular rectangular notch instead of the teardrop notch present on the G7 and G7 Plus.

The G7 back is Gorilla Glass.

Fear not, all three phones have headphone jacks, but some are on the top while others are on the bottom. If you want to go wireless, theres Bluetooth 5.0 LE with aptX. Then again, the Moto G7 Play is £100 cheaper than those models and it's not immediately noticeable. The Plus will cost €300. A previously leaked TENAA report has revealed that Moto G7 Power will be fueled by a massive 5,000 mAh battery that can last for days on end. The Moto G7 includes 12-megapixel (f/1.8 aperture, 1.25um pixel size) and 5-megapixel (depth sensor) cameras, and supports PDAF. The camera on the G7 can also record 4K video at 30fps as well as 1080p at 30/60fps, EIS and hyperlapse for videos too. There is an 8MP front camera with a f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 636 SoC. The Moto G7 comes with 64GB on internal storage, which actually isn't bad if you mostly use cloud services like Google Photos for storing your photos and music streaming services. The battery on this device is also a 3000mAh one.

Wrapped in a water-repellent nano-coating, this phone will run $300 when it's offered in the United States later this spring.

With the Moto G7 family, Motorola has a mid-range phone for everyone
Motorola unveils three new Moto G7 phones, including one with 3-day battery life

Not happy with the battery capacity of the first two? It features a 5.7-inch Max Vision HD+ display. The Motorola G7 linup comes in four different flavors that are targeted at different segments of the highly competitive mid-range Android smartphone market.

Even the Motorola G7 runs on the same chipset as the G7 Play a the G7 Power, the major differences are with the display and the optics.

Colours appear to be punchy and vibrant and the Moto G7 Play also appears to deliver ample brightness, though we will need to test this in full when we come to review it. A single 12MP camera is round the back with an 8MP selfie cam on the front.

In short, the Moto G7 Power's camera is the more capable - at least on paper. This one is coming to India as well (next month). The moto g7 play is a performance powerhouse that leaves lag time behind. It also drops down to 3GB of RAM and a base storage of 32GB, and is a bit bulkier than the main G7 - but if sheer battery life is your goal, it seems like the G7 Power will be tough to beat. The Moto G7 Plus supports much faster 27W charging and has a 3,000mAh battery.

Prices are likely to remain rangebound, or drift sideways to lower until the USA and China reach a trade deal. Oil prices fell on Tuesday after a survey showed euro zone business expansion almost stalled in January.
