Lakers Waiting for Pelicans to Make Counter-Proposal in Anthony Davis Trade

The NBA trade deadline is fast approaching, and with all the rumors the Los Angeles Lakers are involved with, they only have until Thursday, Feb. 7 at 12 p.m. PT to get a deal done. If Davis is not traded, he will likely be allowed to return, but there's a strong possibility he could be "shut down to an extent" for the remainder of the season at some point after the break.

Although Caldwell-Pope and the Lakers had been looking for a landing spot, one person unauthorized to speak publicly said Caldwell-Pope is unlikely to be traded.
The Bulls really like Caldwell-Pope. "One place that they have talked to, now I'm not saying this deal is going to get done, but one place they have talked to is Chicago for Jabari Parker". And when needed, Caldwell-Pope has filled in as a starter and done so pretty well.

Parker, 23, signed with his hometown Bulls in the offseason. Parker could be a Laker within the next few days.

UK's Theresa May traveling to Northern Ireland in Brexit bid
The Prime Minister is meeting all the major political parties in Northern Ireland on the second day of her visit to the region . THERESA May will stress that she can deliver a Brexit deal that avoids a hard border, during a visit to Belfast this afternoon.

The Lakers, Clippers and Bucks are also teams Davis is interested in joining. He was originally drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks with the second overall pick in 2014. He's making $20 million this season and has a team option worth $20 million for next season.

Parker has had numerous "DNP" games this season since Jim Boylen replaced head coach Fred Hoiberg in December. There is talk the Bulls and Parker could agree to a buyout on his contract. There is no longer trust in Parker due to lacking on the defensive end and intersquad turmoil, as they are trying to trade him.
