Ariana Grande not performing at The Grammys 2019

Ariana Grande not performing at The Grammys 2019

After having an alleged argument with the award show's producers over which songs she would perform, the Sweetener songstress not only backed out of performing at the upcoming show, she's not even GOING to it!

The singer's alleged withdrawal is little bit awkward since she has been featured on billboards promoting the show all over Los Angeles.

An insider reportedly told Variety that Grande was "insulted" by the way she was treated.

Grande is nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance (for "God Is a Woman") and Best Pop Vocal Album (for 2018's "Sweetener"). Incidentally, Ariana was none too impressed, so she recanted on her side of the agreement, and pulled out of the gala immediate effect.

It has been claimed they then reached a compromise of a medley which would allow her to sing part of the new song, but after producers demanded to pick the second song, she put her foot down.

This wouldn't be the first time the Grammy producers forced a performing artist into a binding position over song selection.

Grammy producers faced a similar situation with Lorde before last year's ceremony, when they wouldn't let her perform a song from her album Melodrama, which was up for Album of the Year.

Her 7 Rings song is the latest single from her new album Thank U, Next, which will be released on Friday, just two days before the Grammy's air from the Staples Center. To top it all off, Grande has chosen not to attend the gala as a front-row guest, notwithstanding her omission as a performer.
