USPS Halts Mail Delivery In Minnesota Due To Polar Vortex

"Employee safety is a top priority for the Postal Service, and this decision was made for their safety", USPS spokeswoman Kim Frum said.

Extremely low and unsafe temperatures have caused the U.S. Postal service to suspend delivery on Wednesday in Minnesota, Iowa, western Wisconsin and western IL. "Due to this arctic outbreak and concerns for the safety of USPS employees, the Postal Service is suspending delivery January 30", the Postal Service said in a statement.

Finally, late Tuesday night, the postal service said things would be back to normal Wednesday in Kansas and Missouri. All Iowa state government offices are open, the Sheldon City Office is open, but many government offices in other towns are not operational today.

To avoid falling victim to the bug, disable FaceTime on all your devices until Apple's software updates have been released. Under certain circumstances, the glitch also allowed callers to see the person they were calling before they picked up.

Due to dangerously low temperatures, with forecasted wind chills as low as 50 degrees below zero, much of MI is shutting down today. Schools across the city have already canceled classes.

For the second day in a row, the U.S. Postal Service will temporarily suspend regular delivery service on Thursday, Jan. 31.

There will be no mail pick-up from businesses or collection boxes.
