Wind chill advisory for Richland County on Friday morning

Lake effect snow showers linger through the night north of USA 6. Total snow should range from around 5 to 9 inches for most of southeastern Wisconsin. The real blast of cold arrives Thursday night and into Friday.

Extreme cold will move back to the area Wednesday and Thursday, with an overnight low of 5 and risky wind chill values here, the weather service said.

According to KWQC Chief Meteorologist Erik Maitland, cold weather is set to arrive Thursday into Friday as wind chills in some areas could drop to minus 30 degrees.

Frostbite can occur in 10 to 30-minutes, if skin is exposed to these elements, so when outside dress appropriately.

Mayo Clinic says you can prevent frostbite by limiting your time outside, dressing in several layers of loose, warm clothing, wearing a hat or headband that fully covers your ears, wear mittens (instead of gloves), and keep moving.

On Monday, another weather system will push through, creating a 50 percent chance of ice and snow between 7 a.m. and noon in Wyandotte County, according to the weather service. Again. We'll see temperatures, actual air readings, near -15. If it stays all snow, accumulations are likely.

This arctic air mass will remain entrenched over the region through the weekend and into early next week, resulting in a prolonged cold spell.

Light snow is also possible during the late morning hours on Friday.

THURSDAY: Mostly Cloudy and Cold.

Neymar nearly scored Puskas Award contender for PSG v Strasbourg
With ten minutes remaining of the match, Angel Di Maria doubled PSG's advantage to put the Ligue 1 giants out of sight. It's hard to think of another player on the planet who would have attempted to score such an audacious goal.
