NFL Today, Wild-Card Playoffs

NFL Today, Wild-Card Playoffs

Baltimore's 23-17 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers marked the first time in the Ravens' seven post-season appearances under coach John Harbaugh that they've lost their opening game.

The good news is that the Patriots will know who they play at some point in the afternoon Sunday.

The playoff win by the Cowboys (11-6) was the first for Elliott and quarterback Dak Prescott on their second try after losing a divisional game as rookies two years ago. After Wilson ran 4 yards for a touchdown, Mike Davis scored on a 2-point conversion run for a short-lived 14-10 Seattle lead.

The Chargers finished at 12-4 and are only a wild card team due to a lost tiebreaker with the Chiefs.

Ezekiel Elliott ran for 137 yards and a touchdown for Dallas as the Cowboys advanced to a second-round National Football Conference playoff game next weekend against either top seed New Orleans, or the second-seeded Los Angeles Rams.

Cleveland Browns: Freddie Kitchens potential coordinators
This was a solid hire from an organization that was laughed at in the past for some of their coaching decisions. Under Kitchens , who took over after the firing of former coordinator Todd Haley, Cleveland was reinvigorated.

The Indianapolis Colts, as Seattle pulled in by a Wildcard in the Playoffs in the first round, and significantly fewer problems than Dallas.

It was just the third playoff victory for the Cowboys this century, after they won wild-card round games in 2009 and 2014.

The 25-year-old Gordon rushed for 885 yards and 10 touchdowns while also picking up 490 yards and four touchdowns through the air in just 12 games played in 2018.

The Patriots, though, had one of the league's better run games this season with first-round pick and rookie running back Sony Michel, who had 931 yards and would have cleared 1,000 easily had he not missed three games with a sprained knee.

In the AFC, the Andrew Luck-led Indianapolis Colts travel to Houston where they will take on a Texans team that has been red-hot after a 0-3 start to the season. As NFL.com shows, New England will play on Sunday, January 13 at 1:05 p.m. EST on CBS. Russell Wilson completed 18 of 27 passes for 233 yards a touchdown.
