Al Washington heading to Ohio State

According to Ohio State site Lettermen Row, Michigan linebackers coach Al Washington is joining Greg Mattison in Columbus, making a lateral move to coach the Buckeyes linebackers.

Both will take on increased roles under new Ohio State head coach Ryan Day. He spent 13 total seasons, including a stint in the early 1990s, coaching the Buckeyes' chief rival.

Former Wolverine defensive line coach Greg Mattison and former San Francisco 49ers assistant Jeff Hafley will join the Buckeyes as co-defensive coordinators, the school announced Monday afternoon.

"Jeff is a rising star and highly regarded as one of the best secondary coaches in the country". Brown is still under consideration for the head coaching job at Temple.

Washington was defensive line coach on Luke Fickell's Cincinnati staff in 2017 before jumping to MI.

MI linebackers coach Al Washington is reportedly joining Ryan Day's staff.

Who Killed 7-Year-Old Jazmine Barnes?
Jazmine's sister Alexis Dilbert, who was in the auto , told ABC she was able to see the suspect's face during the shooting. Washington took off, tires screeching as she left the lot - trying to protect her family by evading the gunman.

The 49ers won't have full continuity on their coaching staff going into next season.

MI linebackers coach Al Washington is off to coach at Ohio State, his father's alma mater. Greg (Mattison) is a terrific coach.

Considering Mattison celebrated his 69th birthday in November 2018, it's hard to imagine he plans on being Ohio State's defensive coordinator for the next decade.

Ohio State also announced that defensive line coach Larry Johnson will continue coaching the defensive line, but has also been promoted to associate head coach.

The 34-year-old Washington is a Columbus native whose father played linebacker for the Buckeyes.
