Lonzo Ball calls for unity after Lakers' ugly collapse without LeBron James

"And for us to come back, you know, the way we came back in that fashion I was like, 'You did, you did something special". And well, it would appear that we couldn't be any more right.

The Sacramento Kings are coming off a frustrating loss yesterday to the Los Angeles Clippers, but they have the chance to get back on track as they will host the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. The Clippers are sitting at 20-14, the West's fourth-best record, while the Lakers are 20-15 and tied with the Portland Trail Blazers for fifth.

James' absence will be his first of the season.

That collapse included a run of 22 unanswered points for the Clippers (21-14), matching the longest in the National Basketball Association this season, despite the presence of James, Rondo and McGee on the sidelines.

James has not played since he strained his groin in the Lakers' win over the Warriors last week.

The Lakers have already lost their first game without James, a thriller against the Sacramento Kings that ended with a game-winning three from the Kings' Bogdan Bogdanovic.

The Clippers will be a different challenge than the Kings, likely a tougher one.

Shanahan, a former Boeing executive, will be acting defense secretary until someone is nominated for the post. Shanahan, who has been the Pentagon's No. 2 official since July 19, 2017, had worked for Boeing since 1986.

Asked when people might start taking the Clippers seriously, Harrell said, "Don't really know, don't really care, you know?"

The Lakers are 9 in the league in scoring offense as they put up 113.2 points per game.

It will be a battle for the fourth place in the Western Conference standings, now held by the Clippers. The Clippers and Lakers may be heading for that path by the looks of things, making the season series even more important.

"That can't happen. We can lose games, but we'll lose them together".

Although both LA franchises are still building chemistry after major roster changes in 2018, the Clippers found a groove to get it done in front of the Lakers' jeering home fans. Gallinari and Tobias Harris each added 10 rebounds.

Ball had another fascinating game as the Lakers' starting point guard, juxtaposing his exceptional defense and sublime passing with basic mistakes and an erratic shot.
