Jones reclaims UFC title, Nunes KOs Cyborg in 51 seconds

Jones regained the 205lbs title he never lost by stopping Alexander Gustafsson in the main event of UFC 232 on Saturday night. Nunes landed and Cyborg went down but got back up. "Of course [I want a rematch]", she said.

As a result, the UFC made the controversial decision to move the entire event from Las Vegas to Los Angeles on short notice.

Jones returned from his first doping suspension with a stoppage of Cormier in July 2017 to reclaim his light heavyweight title, but he lost the belt again after testing positive for steroids.

"I texted direct to Dana White that I wanted this fight and to make this happen for me, please", Nunes said.

My preference would be for this fight to take place at heavyweight for Cormier's title.

But not so fast, says UFC president Dana White. He talks eventual shifted to Cormier and what Jones would like to do with his next fight. "Once we start figuring out when and if Jones and him will fight right now, what weight, where, all that other stuff, we'll figure that out".

Gustafsson drops to a career mark of 18-5 with his second loss to Jones in as many meetings.

With Cyborg's reputation of overwhelming her opponents and earning first round victories, it came as a shock to the mixed martial arts community when Nunes was able to dispatch the seemingly unbeatable Cyborg in less than a minute. I have to go to a better climate, you know? It was Nunes, the reigning UFC women's bantamweight champion, who bludgeoned "Cyborg" with a battery of fists to the head. We have to talk to USADA to see a medicine, because I can't fight like that.' My head was insane.

"Absolutely. I think he's already under contract with me".

Cyborg took her defeat gracefully, writing in a statement on Twitter: 'Today was not our day, but I want you to know that I am very grateful for your affection! "If her best punch didn't stop me, nothing is going to stop me here now".

Australian featherweight prospect Alexander Volkanovski (19-1) won his 16th straight bout in the PPV opener, stopping veteran Chad Mendes with right hands in the second round of a back-and-forth bout. She hadn't yet watched the fight - where she relinquished her UFC women's featherweight crown to "Lioness" - but did remark that she probably shouldn't have kept punching when she was rocked.

The 30-year-old sent her dazed compatriot crashing to the mat as she scored a superb knockout victory in just 51 seconds, before crying tears of joy after becoming just the third UFC fighter to hold titles in two weight divisions simultaneously.

But the fighters on the card delivered a string of eye-catching performances, with 10 of the 13 bouts - including both world title fights at the top of the card - ending inside the distance.

Despite only five fights inside UFC's Octagon, Cyborg has proven to be one of the most gifted fighters in the promotion's history.

Our fortune and comeback will not come from above, it will come if we do something and that's what we have to try to do". I love it, the gesture. "I'm still not prepared to say something to be honest", Klopp told a news conference.
