'I can't breathe' - Jamal Khashoggi's last words revealed

It is the former Saudi Deputy intelligence chief Ahmad al-Assiri, and the former Royal media Advisor, Saud al-Kahtani.

Assiri often sat in during Prince Mohammed's closed-door meetings with visiting foreign dignitaries and Qahtani was a key counsellor to the crown prince.

Turkish surveillance video records the 15-man hit team arriving at the consulate shortly before Khashoggi, and departing a few hours later.

"Let me put it this way - I want to be very blunt with you: If it weren't for the United States, they'd be speaking Farsi in about a week in Saudi Arabia", Graham said. "And, up until now; we have not received anything".

Authorities in the Saudi capital Riyadh at first claimed Khashoggi had left the consulate alive, before changing their story 18 days later as they said he had died during a fight in the building.

Democratic Senator Chris Murphy said Mattis and Pompeo have tried to "push aside" the question of Prince Mohammed's involvement and said that when the two men spoke to senators last week they had sought to mislead lawmakers.

There is also an indication that phone calls were made - possibly to Riyadh - to report on the process of the murder scene.

Haley's comments stand in contrast to the staunch defense Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have launched on behalf of the crown prince.

Rioting engulfs Paris as anger grows over high French taxes
Instead of retreating, protesters moved closer once the smoke cleared, and the scent of tear gas wafted through the streets. Parts of Paris looked like they were bracing for a hurricane, with boards on windows covering up the Christmas decorations.

Western countries including the United States, France and Canada have placed sanctions on almost 20 Saudi nationals.

Last month, the U.S. Treasury sanctioned 17 Saudis, including Qahtani but not Asiri, for their role in Khashoggi's murder.

Al-Qahtani was sacked from his post as the kingdom's royal court adviser as Riyadh was facing the fallout from Khashoggi's killing, which has strained relations with its allies in the West.

In an apparent break with President Donald Trump, outgoing US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley suggested the Saudi government needs to be held in continued account for the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

"If we go by a certain standard we won't be able to have allies with nearly any country".

President Trump unexpectedly expressed solidarity with bin Salman in a November 20 statement titled, "Standing with Saudi Arabia". Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was a family friend to the Kushners, The Times noted.

In response, the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister had admitted that the murder of the scribe was "a mistake and a rogue operation".

"What happened in the Istanbul consulate was horrendous and it should be duly dealt with", Netanyahu said. Turkey think Saudi Arabia is "evidence".
