'Mortal Kombat 11' Trailer Drops Featuring 'Immortal' By 21 Savage

Tonight at the 2018 Game Awards, Netherrealm Studios head Ed Boon took the stage to announce the victor of the best sports or racing game award, but sgave us a trailer for Mortal Kombat XI instead-complete with an April 23 global launch date. Boasting a new graphics engine, Mortal Kombat 11 promises to make every special move and fatality a visceral and thoroughly unpleasant experience for all.

Pre-orders for Mortal Kombat XI will start on December 7, tomorrow, and players that pre-order will get access to Shao Kahn as a playable character, as well as beta access.

The song by 21 Savage featured in the trailer is titled "Immortal" and overlays scenes of an epic battle between two iconic characters, Dark Raiden and Scorpion, with a tease of a new character who is at the center of Mortal Kombat 11's story. The main new features in this next fighting game, as far as I can tell, are ultraviolence that's even more wince-inducing and dressing up your murderers like pretty dolls.

Warner Bros. Interactive and NetherRealm Studios have unveiled Mortal Kombat 11, the follow-up to 2015's Mortal Kombat X, at The Game Awards today.

There's still a lot of secrecy surrounding them, but we do have some idea of the surprises in store. We've got a simulcast embedded in the article all prepped and ready for the show.

According to the PlayStation description of the promo, the new games give users "unprecedented control to customise characters".

Mortal Kombat 11 will arrive in stores on April 23, 2019.

Make sure to stick with Twinfinite for more info on Mortal Kombat XI. Are you excited to return to the Mortal Kombat universe? Fans can start pre-ordering the game on December 8 and that will get them access to the Beta and the Shao Kahn DLC once the game is released.
