NBA Star Responds After Girl's Plea About His Shoes

Riley noted that "they did have them for sale under the boy's section, even to customize". Golden State's training staff had decided on Wednesday that with so much to play for and a gruelling trip just getting started (and with the team stabilizing after some stumbles early in Curry's absence), an abundance of caution was the proper prescription. Per NBC News, the website has indeed been updated to show Curry's shoes in the girls section, with female-specific instructions relating to size.

She ended her letter with: "I hope you can work with Under Armour to change this because girls want to rock the Curry 5's too". I know you support girl athletes because you have two daughters and you host an all girls basketball camp.

"Girls play basketball too and it's not any more important for boys than girls", Riley said. "We were able to make shots, we were able to get some stops in overtime".

Curry prefaced the note with "Appreciate you helping us get better Riley!"

"We've actually offered Curry signature footwear in youth sizing for boys and girls since the initial Curry 1", said Dean Stoyer, vice president of global brand communications. "We are correcting this now!" he wrote. "I want to make sure you can wear my kicks proudly".
