Simmons totalled five assists in the first quarter - the most a Sixers player has had in an opening quarter this season. Following Philadelphia's 113-107 win over the Utah Jazz on Friday, center Joel Embiid revealed that his right hand was bothering him early on in the game.

His 60 points were a career-high, Hornets franchise record and the single-game scoring high in the entire league this season.

Second only to LeBron James in average points per game in the National Basketball Association this season, Walker now has 103 points in his last two games.

Butler, playing in his third game with his new team, responded with "bet", then drained the 3-pointer.

"I think not a lot of defense is being played", he said prior to the game.

And after catching fire for a second successive game, Walker - who is 28.7 per game for the season - has now achieved a feat that four-time MVP James incredibly never has never.

Simmons meanwhile banked 10 points, nine rebounds and seven assists by half-time alone as the 76ers took a 63-56 lead into the break.

"For the most part I'm just working on my game".

Phoenix scored a surprising 116-96 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday to snap a four-game losing streak, only to lose to Oklahoma City on Saturday as the Thunder out-rebounded the Suns 62-42. And thanks to a clutch late 3-pointer which he banked in, the team was able to push the game to overtime.
